This is a unique opportunity to shape the American political landscape in a meaningful way, simultaneously engaging passionate grassroots volunteers and contributing directly to ballot-box outcomes. As our Head of Operations, you’ll be empowered to help lead the scaling of Tech for Campaigns and drive our emergence as a central pillar of the Left’s strategy to win future elections. TFC operates like a startup—tech-focused, quick-moving, and nimble. Accordingly, you will have strategic and operational responsibility for all aspects of TFC once campaigns agree to a project, from ensuring the right team is staffed quickly to implementing systems and strategies to allow us to scale tenfold this year.

  • Lead, implement and iterate on processes and tactics that will bring operational excellence to TFC as an organization

  • Manage and oversee volunteers and the project matching process

  • Develop creative and effective strategies and tactics to achieve organizational goals and scale

  • Drive improvements to team-level communications and processes, such as conducting trainings and postmortems/debriefs

  • Own all aspects of the project pipeline from the moment a campaign project is confirmed to completion, ensuring teams have tools and resources to be successful

  • Apply a data driven mindset to track and improve operations at TFC. Identify key metrics and use data to drive decision making and operational change.

  • Provide clear and constructive feedback and create an environment of shared accountability among staff and volunteers


  • You don’t need to have prior nonprofit or political experience to be successful in this role.

  • You have 5+ years of experience in management consulting, operations or similar fields. Bonus points if you come from the tech world.

  • You’ve built and managed teams and have an ability to communicate clear priorities and and work effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

  • You thrive on some amount of chaos but are also insanely organized - you can’t help yourself.

  • You’ve built processes, strategies and systems to help scale an outcomes-based organization to the next-level of growth.

  • You care about constantly improving.

  • You’re self directed and love figuring things out from scratch.


This is a full-time and compensated role based in San Francisco.
